Force Plate Assessments
Some questions are hard to answer just by looking. Is one side genuinely weaker than the other? Are you actually ready to return to sport? Force plate testing gives us real numbers instead of a guess.
Using Hawkin Dynamics force plate technology, we measure exactly how your body produces and absorbs force through movements like jumps and landings. That data shows us things a standard clinical assessment can't always pick up: subtle left-right asymmetries, how well you're loading and absorbing impact, and whether your strength and power are tracking the right way.
It's particularly useful in a few situations: deciding whether you're genuinely ready to return to sport after an injury (rather than just symptom-free), benchmarking your athletic performance over time, and picking up asymmetries or deficits before they turn into an injury. We also use it alongside our movement assessment work, so you get both the "how you move" picture and the "how much force you can produce" picture side by side.
Who this is useful for:
Athletes returning to sport after an ACL reconstruction or other significant injury
Runners and gym-goers wanting an objective performance benchmark
Anyone who's had a repeat or nagging injury and wants to know if an underlying asymmetry is contributing
Coaches and athletes wanting to track strength and power development over a season
Force plate assessment works best as part of a broader treatment or performance plan, not as a one-off test. We'll talk you through what the data means and how it shapes your next steps, whether that's clearance to return to sport or a change in your training.
