What are Base Movements?
Base movements are our foundation movement patterns. In other words, the way our bodies are designed to move. We use a clinical and movement assessment to understand your body, and we use this information to structure the best plan to achieve your goals. This might mean getting out of pain, improving the way you move, achieving performance goals or helping you wherever you wish to go. We want you to smash your goals and we are here to help in any way we can. By starting with fundamental movements, we create a solid Base. of movement and function that allows for a greater range and tolerance of load. This could be picking up your kids, lifting heavy weights or training for a marathon.

Max graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2015. Since then he has gained a wealth of experience working at Physio Smart, where he has developed and honed his movement assessment and treating skills.
Max thoroughly enjoys seeing his patients get out of pain, improve performance and achieve personal records at local and national events. Highlights have included working with junior athletes and development programs, as well as with Olympic and Commonwealth Games athletes. He has worked as the South Australian Team Physiotherapist for Athletics SA for the last 5 years.
Max loves working with patients from all backgrounds, and enjoys connecting with each patient to understand their goals and help them thrive. Max has a passion for problem solving and working with tricky patients — particularly athletes and runners.
Max has a passion for sport and has enjoyed a successful football career at Goodwood. He is a keen runner, loves surfing, golf and working out in the gym.
The space at BUILT.
BUILT. Strength & Conditioning is owned by Tom and run by an extremely knowledgeable team of coaches. Downstairs is a dedicated strength gym that includes a variety of commercial gym equipment in a group training environment. Upstairs is home to Hybrid and Base Classes, which are cardio based classes.
